Eli Manning Contract Extension

Eli Manning's contract extension will make him higher paid than his brother! Wow, I know the pay scale increases over the years, but I could never justify paying Eli more than Peyton. Either way, I think the Giants will regret it because I believe he is a mediocre quarterback, despite the Super Bowl win.

Eli isn't worth this much money, and he's not even close. I'm putting my hatred for him aside, and I still can't find a way to justify giving a QB who has a career passer rating of 76.1 this much money. Manning's highest passer rating in a season is only 86.4... Again, not good enough to become the highest paid player in the league.

Now we'll see what the market likes more in the NFL- rings or numbers. Rivers has had better numbers than Eli over the past couple seasons, yet doesn't have a ring yet. There is early talk that he'll be looking at more than Manning is getting, which would then make Rivers the highest paid QB.

Rivers is a solid QB, Manning just isn't. The guy wouldn't even be with the Giants anymore if, last season, defensive backs would have simply caught the would-be interceptions that hit them right in the numbers. It was almost as if the defenders were surprised a ball was hitting them square on as if they were the intended target. This was an every week routine, and if that had happened, you can be sure his Super Bowl charm would be gone with fans and the team, and he would be gone already. He's gonna need a lot more David Tyree to save him from embarrassment now.
