Michael Vick done with sentence
Michael Vick has concluded his sentence this morning and is a free man. The question can now be asked: will he be back in the NFL? If so, with which team?
I think there are a number of teams that could sign him for various reasons. The first is obvious: the Oakland Raiders. Al Davis is always going for the flashy guy who gets attention for the Raiders (since God knows their performance on the field hasn't done it in years). The next possible option could be the Vikings. I say this because there is a possibility (although it is looking slim) that Brett Favre may decide he isn't fit to come back for another season. At that point you have a group of disgruntled QB's knowing you have no commitment to them, and so a Vick signing would make sense at that point. How about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? I definitely think the Bucs, given their history with quarterbacks, could add another to the collection. My last possible team would be the Rams. The Rams, while havin Marc Bulger, don't seem fully commited to the veteran QB.
Only time will tell, but we should know soon enough about Vick's future in the league. Thoughts?

My vote goes to the Raiders. What about the Cowboys? JJ could sign him. He signed Pacman.

Are you serious? With all due respect, there is no way Jones signs Vick. They already have a QB, a backup, and one in grooming (McGee, whether you agree with it or not they seem commited to him. They did, after all, draft him in the 4th round). Also, they won't convert him to receiver. They already have a QB-WR conversion that has failed up to this point in Isaiah Stanback, even though he isn't as heralded as Vick. The transition is much more difficult at the NFL level than it is given credit for. Also, at receiver, the Cowboys fully believe a combination of Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton, Miles Austin, and Sam Hurd can get it done with Stanback possibly being the guy in waiting. Add anyone else to the mix and all you're doing is putting a progress stopper in the organization, whether it be at that position or another position you could have had on the 53-man roster. In other words, if you're hoping for a Vick signing in Big D, you can kiss that idea goodbye.

Goodell
So I see Goodell is dragging his feet on "making a decision" about letting Vick back in the league. Don't let the man fool you. He's had his mind made up since Vick first went to prison. He just doesn't want to officially make the decision known. He needs to quit dragging his feet and just let his decision be known like a grown-up. This guy is worse than a potential prom date weighing all the options...

Vick Reinstated
"Michael Vick will be suspended four games after being conditionally reinstated next week, according to Sal Paolantonio on ESPNews. Vick can now sign with any team that will have him -- and participate in training camp -- but he'll then be unavailable until Week 5. Goodell reportedly told Vick that any future issues will result in stiffer punishment. Though it's not Vick's best-case scenario, it's still good news for the former felon who could have been facing a full-season suspension."
Although its not official sources close to Vick have also said he did meet with Goodell for several hours on Wed. This seems pretty accurate punishment. Yes, he has done his time and served his debt to society, but he still needs to serve a debt to the NFL for the PR nightmare they had to endure. This probably won't deter anyone from signing him, as he won't be back at top form in week 1, even if he signed with a team tomorrow.
I'd like to see the Vikings pick him up. It's worth a shot, especially if Brett decides not to play for 'em. He used to play good on turf, he has proven he can win the cold ones in Green Bay. This would be best case scenario for the Vikings, not Brett Favre.

Terrell Owens spoke up on the issue yesterday, saying he doesn't believe it would be fair to suspend Michael Vick any more than he has already been suspended. I wish more players were vocal enough to say what they feel about they league that, honestly, would fail without them.

The only reason TO makes comments like this is it gets people talking about him and not Vick.

For once, I don't think we can say he was doing it just for attention. I mean, he was asked a question, and just answered it with his opinion. Either way, I think he has a valid point, as it sets a very bad precedent for future suspensions. It has established that Goodell can indeed simply suspend a guy just for the simple fact of not liking him.
