The game I'm talking about is Chargers-Raiders. For once in a blue moon, the Raiders didn't look terrible, but what stays in my mind is a play right before halftime. Anyone remember the touchdown pass the refs called back? It was possibly the most questionable overturning of a play I've seen in recent memory, and it cost the Raiders a net of 4 points since they had to settle for a field goal. How many points did they lose by? You guessed it... 4. The referees have the best angle on the field, and they get a better view of games than any fan could ever hope for... and get paid to do it. Shouldn't they have a little more incentive to get it right? You would think so, but oftentimes you see them not paying attention in the areas they should, instead calling roughing the passer or glancing at the quarterback wrong. Quit babying up the quarterbacks! Or, I have a better idea. If you're going to baby them and make a rule just for Tom Brady, lets take their pads off, and at least make the "illegal" hits they do take count. It would most DEFINITELY make the games more interesting.
