Neftali Feliz MLB Debut

The Rangers have picked tonight to have Neftali Feliz make his MLB debut in a middle relief appearance. Bottom of the 6th, and they weren't kidding when they said he has the "easiest" 100mph they've ever seen.

Wow, I'm just impressed. He's got some control problems, but part of that could be from the nerves of making his first big league appearance. I've wondered the last couple of years if he would ever live up to the hype, and while one inning doesn't paint the entire picture, it sure was a great start. Hopefully a sign of more things to come.

An awesome first outing by Feliz was overshadowed by Ron Washington once again displaying his poor game management skills.

Alright I think it's official, the hype on this guy was merited. Against the Angels, his pitches were topping out at 101mph, and his slider and change-up are killer. If this guy can hone in his control, he has the chance to be a dominant force in the big leagues for some years to come.
