I love the trade for both sides. Holliday clearly makes the Cardinals better this year. They'll have a chance to get compensatory draft picks, too, I believe.
The A's get a great offensive prospect in Wallace. I don't know a lot about the other two, but Sickels said Peterson could be a solid fourth outfielder and Mortensen could turn into an innings eating #4 or 5 starter. Those aren't great, of course, but they're certainly valuable.
The Cards gave up A LOT for Holliday and if they don't win it all its a move that could come back to haunt their future.
